If a ribbon includes the Analyze tile on the right side of the ribbon, users can create private configurable chart tiles for themselves for that ribbon. Users can also remove their private configurable chart tiles from the ribbon and save them in the Available Tiles list.
Administrators can also create shared configurable chart tiles that other users can access.
Administrators can configure the colors for alternate structures used as data series in configurable charts. Colors for other attributes are assigned automatically.
To create a configurable chart tile
1. On the relevant screen, on the ribbon, click the Analyze tile (Analyze or Analytics icon).
2. Click the Chart tab if it is not already selected.
The attributes pane for a new configurable chart appears in the body of the screen.
3. If you are creating a tile for the My Overview ribbon, click the Entity Type list and select which entity type (such as Work or Strategy) you want to use for the chart data. On entity view ribbons, the Entity Type list does not appear; the entity type is configured automatically based on the ribbon type. You can only select entities that you have access to.
NOTE You cannot modify the entity type after you create a tile.
4. Click the Chart Type list and select the type of chart (such as column or pie) that you want to create.
NOTE You cannot modify the chart type after you create a tile.
5. Select the data series you want to use as dimensions for the type of chart you want. For details about the dimensions you can select for each chart type, see About Configurable Chart Attributes.
NOTE The available data series are alternate structures or attributes that an administrator has enabled for use in configurable charts. For more information, see your administrator.
6. Click Apply to create and review the chart.
TIP You can continue to adjust the settings before saving the chart.
7. Enter a Chart Title and click Apply.
NOTE Chart titles do not have to be unique. Tiles with the same title can appear in the ribbon at the same time.
8. If you are an administrator and want to share the tile with other users, click Share with Others.
9. Click Save.
The tile is added to the Main View to the left of the More tile.
NOTE If the Main View is full, the tile you created replaces the tile next to the More tile, and the replaced tile moves to the More View.
If you are an administrator and want to configure other settings, such as the help text for a tile, setting a required feature to limit access to a tile, enabling or disabling a tile, and configuring which ribbons the tile appears on, see Tile Administration.
Modifying a Tile
To modify a configurable chart tile: 1. On the relevant screen, on the ribbon, click the appropriate tile. 2. In the attributes pane displayed on the left side of the screen, change the tile's chart settings as needed.
NOTE You cannot change the Entity Type (My Overview ribbons only) or the chart type. The Chart Type list does not appear for existing configurable charts.
3. Click Apply. 4. Administrators can share or unshare a configurable chart by selecting or clearing the Share with Others option. 5. Click Save.
If you are an administrator and want to configure other settings, such as the help text for a tile, setting a required feature to limit access to a tile, enabling or disabling a tile, and configuring which ribbons the tile appears on, see Tile Administration.
