With the Microsoft Power BI service, you can use the cloud-based business analytics service to visualize and analyze data by performing the following tasks:

  • View reports and dashboards in Power BI from a Planview content pack
  • Create and modify Power BI reports for yourself using datasets from a Planview content pack, which you can also use in private Power BI tiles
  • Create and modify Power BI reports for yourself using datasets that you exported from Planview Enterprise One – PRM, which you can also in private Power BI tiles
  • Create and modify Power BI reports for yourself using datasets that were created in Microsoft Power BI Desktop, which you can also use in private Power BI tiles
  • Create and modify Power BI dashboards for yourself

To use the Power BI service with Planview Enterprise One – PRM, you need a Microsoft Power BI account, a Single-Sign On (SSO) authentication token or your Planview Enterprise One – PRM user name and password, and the Use Analytics and Reporting feature on your user role.

NOTE

If you want to create your own dataset or use data that is not in the cloud (for example, data that is behind a firewall), use [[Using Power BI Desktop|Power BI Desktop]].
